The purpose of the HFNA is “for residents in the HFNA neighborhood to come together to build social
connections and to be able to speak as a united voice on issues of concern to the community.” We
hold an annual meeting in March along with multiple social and service events throughout the
year as shown on the attached membership flier.
No! We are an all-voluntary organization without mandatory dues designed to help inform,
improve, and connect our neighborhood. It’s not about rules or requirements for living in the
neighborhood, but rather a group to bring our community together.
The HFNA is one of the oldest established neighborhoods in the City of Fairfax. The boundary of
our neighborhood association includes the approximately 205 single family homes south of Fairfax
Boulevard, West of Chain Bridge Road, north of Main Street, east of McLean Ave and the homes
along Keith Avenue and to the east, excluding the homes in neighborhoods bound by an HOA.
The minimal $20 annual dues are voluntary but help support our many activities. Additionally, by submitting your membership form with your contact information, we can include you in emails with news about upcoming activities and items of interest to the community. Due-paying households are also allowed to vote on matters of concern to the neighborhood, including election of the board and positions taken by the neighborhood on development matters.
Each household or family can fill out the form on the attached flier to get started and deliver or
mail it with a check or cash to our treasurer Nick Leach at 10626 Springmann Dr.
Yes! We have multiple committees to help serve the neighborhood and are always looking for
volunteers! You can join planning committees for neighborhood events or volunteer for cleanups
or our Welcome Wagon and Neighbors Helping Neighbors Network.
HFNA Board members are elected for two-year terms at the Annual Meeting.
